A gift.

Sort of doubt that karlchen is KarlChen though; "-chen" is a German diminutive, i.e., https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Karlchen (oh, and "JermyB" might want an additional "e" in there somewhere).

Karl Chén -- Karl of the Dawn as it could be interpreted in Chinese, would have quite poetic qualities ...
OK - it's possible that a professional Chinese is having a horrible laughing fit right now.

Re: Staff Signatures
Yes ! This https://forums.linuxmint.com needs a big update.
I never liked this old logo. I asked for a major change... 3 years ago now ! This old "leaf" shape does not look like a leaf at all. It has no significance and it doesn't look nice. I am not saying this new round logo is the best logo I have ever seen, but it made some sort of consensus. At least this new round one is not ugly. It does not bother me as much.
On top of that, as many people have already said, you just can't have many different logos for one group. It is confusing. It should be the old one or the new round one. Not both.
The old logo has its advantages too: it guarantees a community that remains small and without too much money.

Re: Staff Signatures
I like both logos, but I prefer the round one personally. Linux Mint has a few logos which ship with it's iso, one looks like mountains for the spices webpage, which I also like. I created these to have more of a modern Cinnamon look to them, or at least my interpretation of that. The older signatures look like something from Mate or Xfce desktops.
When you become a community sponsor, they give you one of these signature bars with your name on it for the forums. [edit] Actually I can't remember if I was given a bar for my community sponsor or my commercial sponsor, one of the two, I can't remember.
I have never seen anyone use one. I had one on my old forum name and then I created the one I have now. I am not sure what money has to do with the difference in logos?
Clem has asked that all artwork posted to the forum come with the source files, of course I will comply.
