Unmet Multimedia Dependencies on LMDE RC?

Postby Carl » Mon Sep 12, 2011 6:09 pm

I think I read something about this being caused by some packages being updated in update pack 2 and others not being updated until update pack3?

as I've been getting a number of problems like this

Code: Select all

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
xbmc : Depends: xbmc-bin (>= 10.1-0.7) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: xbmc-data (>= 10.1-0.7) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: xbmc-skin-confluence (>= 10.1-0.7) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages

so i think you are right (assuming you are following latest), not all the deps are available atm, they will be with update-pack3

I'm on the Latest repo I believe

output of inxi -r

Code: Select all

Repos:     Active apt sources in file: /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian main upstream import
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest testing main contrib non-free
           deb http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main contrib non-free
           deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org testing main non-free
           deb http://liquorix.net/debian sid main
           deb http://hadret.rootnode.net/debian/ unstable main
           deb-src http://hadret.rootnode.net/debian/ unstable main
Active apt sources in file: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/dropbox.list
           deb http://linux.dropbox.com/ubuntu maverick main

hmm... I don't remember adding that Ubuntu repo :?

Thanks for answering my question :D

I just installed it from the repo so it must have something to do with that

probably they use the same approach google uses with chrome/ium, adding the repo to sources.list/d when you install the pkg;

as for the first question, yes you are in latest, so must be that sync question
