Hmmm.... my updater won't load updates, no matter what I've tried. It used to work and now suddenly stopped. Here's what it tells me when I refresh/ restart it:
Could Not Refresh the List of Packages
ERROR###ERROR###ERROR###ERROR###ERROR###ERROR###ERROR
E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.
What's the deal?

Re: Updater won't update...
I don't know if this is going to help, but the update manager has always seemed sort of goofy to me, so I goto the terminal, and type in sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade and the update happens, followed by a confirmation if I want to install everything selected above.
If the result is the same as before, copy and paste it so we can look at it verbatium.
