Fail to fetch error

Postby dsrh » Wed Dec 21, 2011 7:29 pm

How do I resolve this error?

sudo apt-get update
W: Failed to fetch http://www.debian.linuxmint.com/latest/ ... /InRelease

W: Failed to fetch http://www.debian.linuxmint.com/latest/ ... elease.gpg Could not resolve 'www.debian.linuxmint.com'

W: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

Update Pack 3

inxi -r
Repos: Active apt sources in file: /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian main upstream import
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest testing main contrib non-free
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/security testing/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://www.debian.linuxmint.com/latest/multimedia testing main non-free

Also, why is foomatic not upgraded?

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Code: Select all

gksu gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

edit the line saying:

Code: Select all

deb http://www.debian.linuxmint.com/latest/multimedia

to:

Code: Select all

deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/multimedia

If you try the links directly in the browser you will see that the one with "www" in it doesn't work.
