(SOLVED)terminal command to start nautilus in LM12Debian

Postby gychang » Thu Jun 07, 2012 10:51 am

I want to start default file manager nautilus from terminal. When I type in "nautilus", I get this

--
apa@optiplex ~ $ nautilus
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
Could not register the application: Method `DescribeAll' returned type `(a(savbav))', but expected `(a{s(bgav)})'
apa@optiplex ~ $
--

Another question what is the terminal command to start nautilus as the root user?

thanks,

gychang

--could be updates have changed Gnome items..

If the application (nautilus file manager) is failing to load, using root probably won't help, it is more likely an update for gnome or a plugin/extension you have on nautilus that is causing the problem: an extension such as flash-player.. or other?
