[Solved] Making caja default file manager on Mint 13

Post by earlwho »

I installed Maya Mate on my laptop a short time ago. At the time I deleted some programs and added others I've come to like over the years. Things are working well ,,, no complaints about Mate. Having tried several other WMs, I settled on Mate.

I ran into one problem though; installing rhythmbox also installed nautilus. Nautilus intrudes where it isn't wanted. How can I make caja the default for all actions?

As I remembered, the last time I tried to remove Nautilus I was faced with destroying the whole installation. It turns out that was with Ubuntu 12.04 and not Mint 13. Just deleted nautilus using synaptic and all is well.
