help with install of new cursor theme ?

I downloaded a nice cursor theme off of gnome-look. However, I'm not exactly sure which folder I should put this in, so that Gnome will see it. Any help would be appreciated.

You can put it in 2 places. ~/.icons or /usr/share/icons/
