Significant Mate 1.10 bug in 17.2 Rafaela

Searched the forum, and am surprised no one has mentioned this one...

Bug - Add a second, auto hiding Mate panel to the top of the screen, then add an application launcher and a few apps. Re-boot (or logging out/back in seems to work, too).

Soon after the desktop is finished loading, open an application. Click on the open app window's titlebar, as if to drag it elsewhere on the screen. 9 times out of 10, the entire screen/desktop "blinks" - re-drawing itself. This re-draw leaves the original app window displaced a few tens of pixels lower, and often leaves compositing (shadow) artifacts (Marco) around running Screenlets and Wbar's rectangular hidden screen area. Further titlebar clicks more often than not will provoke the "blink" again and again, once each click - as many as 7 times... but sometimes only once.

Once the click/"blinking" stops, the remainder of the session is normal.

Happens with either an updated system (17.1 > 17.2 via Update Manager) or a clean install of 17.2.

Obnoxious bug! I really like the hidden launch panel, so have gone back to 17.1 for the time being. Old 1.6 GHz duo-core HP Pavilion DV5000, integrated graphics (Intel Mobile 945GM/GMS 943/940GML). Otherwise, Mint 17.0/17.1 Mate has been pretty much flawless over the last year and a half... outstanding!

So - has anyone else experienced this bug? Is there a fix? Can someone here (Monsta?) at least report it to the Mate/Mint devs??

Thanks for any replies/help!

Huh. So no other folks have experienced this bug, apparently... :?

May be just an anomaly of this particular laptop's hardware/graphics combination, I suppose. Unfortunately, I don't have any other available computers to install/test 17.2/Mate 1.10, and see if I can reproduce the bug. Certainly does have me curious, though...
