I've just installed Mint 17.3 Mate 64 bit.
I'm used to Mint 13 Mate 32 bit.
In Mint 13, when I open a program an icon appears on the Panel at the bottom of the screen.
If I have several open programs and all are maximised I can choose the one I want from the icon on the Panel.
In Mint 17.3 there are no indications on the Panel of what programs are open.
If I click the icon to "Hide all windows and show the Desktop", I can't find the programs I have already opened.
I know this is possible in17.3 Mate from a screen shot I saw at:

How can I get this behaviour back?
My system details are below.

Re: Open programs not shown on Panel
Rightclick on the panel, choose Add applets to the panel. Is the Window List applet marked as active, with a green dot?

Re: Open programs not shown on Panel
Hi M0em,
Using the Right Click on the panel as you suggested, I've found one called "Window Selector" which gives a list of opened programs that I can choose from.
I can use this as a work around but I would like to have an icon in the panel for each one.
There are no "Green Dots" that I can see. (Are you using the "Mate" desktop" as I am)
If anyone can show me how to do this I would be very grateful.

Re: Open programs not shown on Panel
No, sorry, my hint was for Cinnamon. Well, at least for now you have a usable workaround. I hope you'll get a real solution soon!

Re: Open programs not shown on Panel
It sounds like you're missing the "Window List" applet. If so, right click on the panel, choose "Add to Panel" and then, in the resulting list, choose "Window List". It's the third one from the bottom.
