Hi,
I am using Mint 17.3 Mate and these have been happening for a while and I have no idea why or what triggers it. After some time (a few days) the recent documents are cleared automatically (and in other apps like Pluma). Does anyone experience the same? and more important, how to stop it?
Thanks

Re: Recent documents are automatically cleared
well, on this 17x Mate - nothing is cleared from history,
which is a bit of a pain, as it has to be cleared manually.
has anyone else have this issue?

Hi, Pierre. Well, that's exactly what I would like to happenPierre wrote:well, on this 17x Mate - nothing is cleared from history,

The problem is that I have no clue about when this happens.

Re: Recent documents are automatically cleared
Ok, now I have discovered when it happens. Whenever I open Pluma as superuser from terminal or open a document with Pluma from terminal, I edit and I save it. My recent documents are gone. For example:
Or
Code: Select all
sudo pluma /home/user/doc.txt
Code: Select all
sudo pluma

I believe you should be using
viewtopic.php?t=228412
gksudo
rather than sudo
for starting graphical programs. Otherwise, the ownership of your files will be changed to root. You might have a look at this:viewtopic.php?t=228412

Maybe that was a bad example. But when I edit config files I need to be superuser.jimallyn wrote:I believe you should be usinggksudo
