Cant see User files in Windows [SOLVED]

Post by orelbo »

I'm trying to move over some files i have on windows over to Linux, however i cant see any of the files i have in my windows user. Heres the paths I'm taking;

Windows>Users>Username
or
Windows>Document and Settings>Username

When i enter my user i cant see any of the files i have saved, could this be because my account on windows has a password?

More likely that Windows is in hibernation instead of in complete shutdown.

For Windows 8.x and 10, you need to disable "Fast Startup":

Check whether it's still disabled. Sometimes Windows updates turn it on again.

Ah i found what was wrong, it seems like i was looking in the wrong place for the files. i booted up windows and looked at where the files were stored and they were not where i was looking for. Thank you for your help either way.
