[Solved] Mint menu not touching the panel

Post by mpiter »

Hello,

After working for a while, the Mint menu does not appear anymore against the low panel as it should do but a few mm above it leaving a very small part of the desktop between the menu and the panel. Because the mouse is over the panel when I click on the Mint menu icon, I cannot reach the menu anymore because passing over the small uncovered part of the desktop closes the menu. I have to call the menu with a keyboard shortcut, which is annoying. Bringing back the menu at the right spot using Alt + left-click or doing

Code: Select all

mintmenu --reset
does not change anything. I have no ideas what triggers the menu problem.

I am using Linux Mint 18.1 up-to-date with kernel 4.4.0-79-generic, Compiz, and gtk-window-decorator.

I thank you in advance for any suggestion to solve that problem.

I thought it's been fixed for Mint 18.x already...
Ok, try the workaround from here then.
