hi all,
I have been struggling configuring lightdm for autologin.
I have already followed and tried what I found in the forum and online about this subject, but it did not help.
Mint boot up and when lightdm should appear, nothing appears. The auth.log at that moment shows that light keeps trying to create a session for my user (buscon):
Oct 4 14:12:47 focusing systemd: pam_unix(systemd-user:session): session opened for user buscon by (uid=0)
Oct 4 14:12:47 focusing lightdm: pam_ck_connector(lightdm-autologin:session): nox11 mode, ignoring PAM_TTY :0
Oct 4 14:12:47 focusing systemd-logind[1004]: Removed session c4.
until session c5.
If I login on terminal (tty) and restart lightdm with:
service lightdm restart
then it works, and it autologin in my mate session.
So i think that lightdm is configured correctly, anyway here is my lightdm.conf:
[Seat:*]
autologin-guest=false
autologin-user=buscon
autologin-user-timeout=0
user-sesson=mate
What can i do?
Lightdm and autologin

I searched onbuscon wrote:What can i do?
"lightdm" "nox11 mode, ignoring PAM_TTY"
and an easy possible solution is to delete (or rename) ~/.Xauthority
Please edit your original post title to include [SOLVED] if/when it is solved!
Your data and OS are backed up....right?

Re: Lightdm and autologin
I tried already to delete ~/.Xauthority but that did not help.
