18.3 linux-image errors

On installing a program with aptitude or apt-get I get the following errors. This below is just part of the message. The programs do infact install. I believe I read about a problem with 18.3 linux-image-extra ??

Ideas? Suggestions? As always :D Thanks in advance :)

This message gzip: stdout: No space left on device spells out what the problem is.

You should purge older/unused kernel packages to make room.
