[SOLVED] buttons disappearing on mint
Hi
None of the windows on my linux mint 18.1 serena has no "close , minimize ..'' buttons . and when i click on "show desktop" this message appears :
Your window manager does not support the show desktop button, or you are not running a window manager.
i've try some ways but they didnt work .

...right-click in the 'main' bottom panel / taskbar, Add To Panel, Window List...

Menu > Look & Feel > Desktop Settings > Windows > Buttons Layout > Traditional

Thank u but when i go to "Look and feel" and click on "Desktop setting " nothing happen. Nothing open .

Hopefully, a person with more knowledge of Mate can help.
It does appear that you have extensive problems with your Mate, and you might have to re-install.

& see if that fixes it? If that still doesn't fix it, maybe give a try to gsettings reset-recursively org.mate.panel

it just solved!
(although it needs more attention!)
the point was that all of the problem initiated from python so some of the modules had problem so they should be fix .
