multiple monitors

Post by mylinuxm »

Google chrome opens on my secondary monitor all the time. Every other program opens on primary. How do i cause every program to open on primary regardless of where I move it later? I'm using metacity but am open to change.

You might try gDevilsPie.

I'm looking at that. Trying to make sense of it. Is it safe?

I have no idea but I assume so because I recommend it to people with your issue. I don't use it. I run KDE so I don't need devilspie.

I tried this. It does solve the problem, but adds one more level of complexity I don't want. There must be some flag I can set to open all apps on the primary or a flag in chrome to always open in primary window. Anybody?
