Messed up my menu, no applications anymore [solved]

Somehow i managed to mess up my menu.
Linux Mint MATE 18.3 x64
When i click on applications everything is empty
Tried mintmenu --reset as in topic viewtopic.php?f=206&t=271174#p1481272 but that does not work for me.

Is there a way to fix it or do i have to do a new install?

Try:

sudo apt-get install --reinstall mintmenu

Hopefully it will resolve the issue.

I fixed it

I renamed the folder ./config/menus to ./config/OLDmenus
Did a reboot and my menus are working again
