[SOLVED] PrintScreen screenshot shortcut keys not working

Post by powerhouse »

The shortcuts to printscreen don't work, neither <PrintScr> nor <Alt> + <PrintScr>

Menu -> Accessories -> Take Screenshot works as advertised.

Annoying! One more thing to fix.

Check that you don't have Fn lock active. If that's not it and shortcuts in general are still working:

Menu > Keyboard Shortcuts

and find the screenshot shortcuts and recreate them. Your chosen keyboard map might not actually place PrtScr where you think it is.

As I wrote the above post, I found a way to fix it:

-> Control Center -> Keyboard Shortcuts

Press +Add and fill in as below:

Apply and select "Disabled", then press the key combination (usually <PrScr> or <Alt>+<PrScr>)

Hope this helps someone. I wonder why these keyboard shortcuts haven't been included in the Mate 19 release :?

Thanks! In the meantime I found the solution - see above. Will mark solved.

That's not the proper solution though. These shortcuts exist by default, you probably just need to update the key combo:

No reason for custom shortcuts.
