Issues with vertical panel and autohide

Post by polla »

Do to the small screen on my laptop I'vde moved the Mate panel to the left side of the screen and used the autohidden feature. However this is presenting some issues that are a bit annoying.

1.- the elements of the panel didn't rotate
2.- when pressing the "windows" key the panel doesn't show up, only the menu.
3.- when moving the mouse to the left side of the screen to reveal de panel and then click and moving the cursor over the menu, causes the panel to hide again and the open menu moves back to the left side of the screen.

Is there a way to solve any of this issues?

PS: I am using Linux Mint Tara

Unfortunately there's no useful system info there really, copy/paste this to the terminal and copy/paste the text output here (no screenshots please):
