Ghost icons on taskbar? (Mate19)

This just started a few days ago. Also, the little black bar just appeared this morning.

No clue why it's happening.

You should post inxi -Fxz output, also recent updates, as in:

No, and it's quite random. Wasn't there yesterday but on boot this am....there it was again.
Sometimes it only shows up for part of the day.
Sometimes on restart it goes away, and sometimes not.

UPDATE: it seems to appear when I load KeePass 2.38. Exit KeePass and it goes away.

I get that, also in Mint Mate 18.3. However, once I found what caused it I can ignore it.

So, if I open another app that has a right side taskbar icon before I load KeePass2........

This is obviously not a big deal, just annoying. Never had the issue in 17.2.

This was an issue I used to have back in the days of Gnome 2. So it's no surprise it keeps popping up in Mate. I never have found a fix. Only that by either keeping tray icons to a minimum, or by delaying certain startup apps, keeps the issue at bay.
