I just recently noticed that ALL the (plain text documents) in Caja and Mate desktop no longer have a visible "Icon" - "label" . I have never installed dconf-editor or to my knowledge changed settings that could affect this.

Other types of folders and files ----> (executable (application/x-executable) files display "Icon" - "labels" correctly.

I did boot a live USB containing Mint 19.1 64 Bit MATE edition and created a (plain text document) the "Icon" - "label" does in fact appear correctly. I have a laptop computer with Mint 19.1 32 Bit Mate edition installed and no issues with the (plain text document) "icon" - "label" display exist.

I have attached a screenshot to this post of the issue.

1. Is there a fairly straightforward way for me to select for instance an "Icon" - "label" of my choice even for a (system-wide approach) to simply correct the issue? For instance selecting an icon out of /usr/share/icons/something-relating-to-documents? I notice that I can choose a label of my liking but only for one instance and not (system-wide) for all (plain text documents).

Update: I did login on the visitor account and the visitor account is not affected by this issue.

Thank You for any suggestions and help with this I understand this is not a critical issue but it's annoying.

Update to my original post:

I was able to resolve this issue in another way by doing the following steps found in this link: ----> viewtopic.php?f=46&t=292292&p=1622191#p1622191

Most certainly it's not the correct way to have fixed the issue and I have no idea as to how the issue came about in the first place.

Thank You
