[SOLVED] Which tool to use for changing themes from a script?

Post by ColdBootII » Wed Jun 12, 2019 10:24 am

I would like the system to change themes on sunrise, switch to something bright and then fall back to a dark theme at sundown but so far, none of the command line tools I've tried (gsettings, dconf) can do that in Mate 1.20. Which one is right for my use-case?

Eh, it was gsettings all along only, I'm unfamiliar with the keys. So, after some listing through those with list-key option, I found the answer to my question. Should anybody need the same, the correct syntax for changing theme is:

Code: Select all

gsettings set org.mate.interface gtk-theme "THEME_NAME_HERE"

Return to “MATE”
