Screen Resolution when using remote desktop

Post by chip_butty » Tue Sep 03, 2019 10:54 am

Newbie type question

I am running Linux Min 19.2 mate as a media server and often use Anydesk to remotely access the machine.

All is ok until I try to reboot when logged in with anydesk; as the screen changes to a small default resolution rather than 1920 x 1080.

This is becuase the machine is connected through an HDMI switch box; so presumably Mint cannot work out the resolution.

Is there a way to force 1920 x 1080, I tried various options using xandr. include --new mode and all I succeeded in doing is making the screen even smaller.

The built in Preferences | Display also doesn't work and all options are greyed or broken

Have you tried:

xrandr --fb 1920x1080

?
