Hi,

There's nothing that can be done about it. It is very much useless since it cannot handle many applications, Caja being one of them. Chrome, Rhythmbox and Libre Office being notable exceptions, so far as I remember and tried.

Appmenus were a GNOME thing that had to be specifically supported by an application, but which since has been removed from GNOME and its applications, so the concept is dead going forward.

You can type the following command in terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo apt install mate-hud
Then add the global menu applet on your panel.
