I don't know if i am the only one, who has this issue, but my desktop hangs sometimes .
The system it self is working, but the windows cannot be closed, resized or moved (window frame disappears and no close resize ... buttons are not visible).
I helped myself with a small script that can be pinned and executed from the mate taskbar : nohup marco --replace & killall mate-panel &
I am using 4 displays on a nvidia graphics (got that with 3 too, with other configurations i never got that problem, but it may exist there too)
The System :
Linux Mint Mate 20.1
Intel® Core™ i7-8700K CPU
GeForce GTX 1060 driver 450.102.04 (460 has some issues so i dont use them)
32 GB Ram
Kernel 5.8.0-44
Someone out there with the same problem or a possible solution ?

Re: Random "freezes" on mate
Interesting it seems to be really random, I never found a logical reason why it happens

Re: Random "freezes" on mate
Sorry for the late reply
Yes i checked the logs some time but i didn't found any reason for that behaviour.
May be i looked at the wrong place . For some time it does not happen so often.
I think there was a problem with the Nvidia drivers, that is now better solved.

Re: Random "freezes" on mate
I think i got a trace:
May 7 14:29:02 termint kernel: [91181.831374] marco[2746]: segfault at 1c00149 ip 00007f1fcbd2d644 sp 00007ffe5ed4a948 error 4 in libmarco-private.so.2.0.0[7f1fcbd10000+63000]
Maybe it helps to find a reason
It happens mostly by closing a xfreerdp session.
