Hello, I was messing around with my computer, I no longer have the close button for windows, minimize/maximize functions of windows. I also cannot move windows around on the screen. I have tried accessing the "windows" setting in the Control Center, the error I receive is "the current window manager is unsupported".
This issue also made my menu go missing to which I have already fixed by replacing the .config/dconf/user file from another profile.
I have Linux Mint 19, running MATE

Re: Window Manager Not Working
If you are using Compiz as your window manager make sure to select the option 'Windows Decoration'
Look at Menu/Desktop Settings/ Windows. Sometimes temporarily selecting a different windows manager corrects this.
