Re: Mate Panel missing (reglarly)
I have the same problem, and it occurs very frequently on Alt+Tab keys pressed. In my case, the panel becomes invisible (transparent), on right click I see the panel context menu, but the panel still be invisible.
solves this problem, but it resets all the panel settings...
Is there any solution?
Code: Select all
mate-panel --reset

Try using a different windows manager
Menu/Desktop Settings/Windows tab
Menu/Desktop Settings/Windows tab
Everything in life was difficult before it became easy.

Re: Mate Panel missing (reglarly)
Hi,
I had often "panel missing" problems with Mate 1.24 (in Linux Mint up to 20.2), less with Mate 1.26 (in Linux Mint 20.3).
I use the following script to relaunch Mate panel:
I save this script in a file I named "Reset_Mate_Panel.sh" and this file is on my desktop.
Initially I used Marco + Compton as the windows manager, I use now Metaicity + composition, and it seems that Mate panel crash is less frequent (this can be adjusted in control center / deskotp parameters / windows).
Note that mate-panel package has further been corrected on github https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-panel, its revision is now 1.27, while mate-desktop is still in 1.26 revision; but mate-panel has not been updated on Linux Mint.
Regards,
MN
