[Solved] Caja directory sorting

I run Debian 10 on this laptop (I should update my profile. This is E6420, i7-2620M CPU @ 2.70GHz ) and I apologize for not directing my queries to the Debian user forum. The reason is that the Debian forum is nowhere near as active as the Mint forum and also that my question regards Caja/Mate and the Mate people have closed their user forum. Mate version is 1.20.4

System language is en_US but alphabet is Swedish with åäöÅÄÖ. I prefer having the system in English since translations are not always complete even if they exist so to have a consistent appearance it's en_US for me but there is an annoyance that I don't know how to get correct alphabetical sorting all over. By setting some of the LC_...variables to sv_SE the Filerunner file manager gets it but Caja does not. By prefixing with env LANG=sv_SE.utf8 i can get ls to work. But so far I have not found a setting or prefix that forces Caja or the File Chooser to do it right. So does anybody know how to set things up for Caja (or another file manager) so that alphabetical sorting with åäö at the bottom works although system language is en_US?

Solution found. By setting LC_COLLATE=sv_SE.utf8 sorting works with åäöÅÄÖ at the bottom. Thanks go to linolenux who suggested this.
