I'm having some GUI issues with the file browser and some files in general.
Sometimes, I have no idea when, there will be a delay when trying to either open a "File Browser" window from the taskbar, or open a file on the desktop.
If I click on the taskbar icon, nothing launches. This causes me to see if something is odd, so I click a few more times. Nothing happens. Then maybe I'll try opening something on the desktop. When I click on various desktop icons nothing happens. Whatever icon was previously highlighted stays highlighted.
Then, after about 30 seconds to a minute, everything I clicked on opens at once.
Another thing that happens only in File Browser windows, is that they will sometimes lock up. I'll try to open a file or folder, and nothing will happen. Sometimes the client area disappears and I see the desktop background in the window. I click on the 'X' to close it. After a few seconds I get a message saying that it's unresponsive and gives me a "Force Quit" button. I click on that and everything is back to normal for a while.

Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- Make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- Copy/paste this command into the terminal:
(if you type: the letter F is a capital letter, and don't omit the space after inxi!)
Press Enter.
Copy/paste the output in your next message.

Re: Window Freezes and Lags
Try this:
Update Manager - panel: View - Linux kernels
Install the latest kernel of the 5.15 series. Then reboot and test.
If that doesn't help (enough), do this as well:

Re: Window Freezes and Lags
So I tried the first option - updating to the 5.15 series. No change. I still get File Explorer hang-ups.
On a side note, I really only ever use the Update Manager when there are updates available. I thought the kernel was part of those updates. Why is there a separate section for the kernel? And why did I not get notifications that they were up to 15?
I guess I'll try the second option next.

Re: Window Freezes and Lags
Those of us with NVIDIA graphics cringe at the thought of a kernel upgrade!
