Deluge does not "minimise to tray on close"...

Post by Stretch » Mon Oct 08, 2007 3:36 pm

If I enable the tray item in Deluge preferences, then close the main window, Deluge seems to disappear. No icon appears in the tray. The process still runs ok but I have no way of restoring it.

Now this is nothing to do with the window list panel, it's the system tray.

So how does one restore an app that is neither on the window list nor in the tray, but is still running?

Can anyone confirm if their Deluge does this or not?

This is the default setting.
You need to change it in Preferences to minimize to tray.

This is what I have done. Then when I close it, it disappears.

There's a fix...I just forget what it is!

I ran into this problem as well. I set Deluge up on somebody else's computer last week and had problems with the tray icon.

I tried setting Deluge up for myself today, but can't seem to remember what exactly I did to fix the other one! I do remember that it had something to do with the version of either Deluge or a dependency. The good news is that it is definitely fixable (and Deluge ran so well, and consumed so few resources, that I decided to replace my own torrent client with it!).

I'll come back here when I retrace my steps and figure out how to make the icon come back. :D

**FIX for disappearing tray icon**

Post by Flux.Riot » Thu Oct 11, 2007 6:09 pm

Here it is! If you download and install Deluge from GetDeb.net, your tray icon will appear. I think it's a bug in the latest version or something.

Here's the link.
EDIT: I switched the url... so now you can choose which version of Ubuntu/Mint you're running, as well as 32 or 64 bit.
