graphics crash

Post by cuernitofiel » Wed Nov 28, 2007 2:19 pm

Hi I ran Mint 3.1 and now upgrade to 4.0, in both systems, I can switch to a text terminal (gettie), but when I try to get back to the graphical terminal (ctrl+alt+f7) the graphics are useless, it is flickering blank screen, even if I restart the session (ctrl+alt+bckspace) it sees the same.

I have a HP dc7700 CMT, it have a intel 915 graphics card and a LCD monitor HP L1706.

It seems a problem with sessions on gnome, because I can go back and forth before start any session.

Can anybody give me a hint on this?

Yes, I can login.

Even I can close session and login again. But I can't switch to a text terminal and switch back to the graphical desktop.

Now the problem increased, it might give more information.

Now I realize that I have a Intel 965Q chipset, and use the 915resolution package, to sue a 1280x1024 resolution.

Now, Again I can login, logout, login again.

But If I switch to a text terminal I cant go back, no matter if I'm looged in or not, or even if the system just boot up.
