prevent user to move icon on the desktop

Hello,

i want to prevent to a user to move icons on the desktop (i want the icon stay on a specific position)
already fond how the deleting.

i found that this info is stored in the metadata of the file (using gvfs-info)

is there a way to do that?

Have you looked into a Kiosk setup ? This website is created and maintained by one of our members.

Out of curiosity, which file is that? I'm also a fresh Cinnamon user myself and would like to know.

In reply, you can try to chattr that file. While I was using Xfce I couldn't anchor shortcuts in desired places on desktop and chattr-ing a certain folder recursively did that trick.
