Dock doesnt hide in fullscreen anymore

Post by carlitador » Mon Oct 07, 2019 5:29 am

Hi,

I recently upgraded from Linux Mint 18 to 19.
I am using Plank dock, and it stays in the foreground even when I play a video or a program in fullscreen mode. I tried with another dock software (docky) and the problem is the same.
Do you have any idea please?

Thanks

Cheers

Did you do a clean reinstall or a web upgrade?

ALso, there's no useful system info there, copy/paste this to the terminal and copy/paste the text output here (no screenshots plz):

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz

You're running a 5 series kernel, that may not work with a 2012 machine, revert to or install a 4.15 series kernel.

Hi,
I had 4.15 before and the problem was still there.
Thank you

Have you tried Cairo-Dock? I have mine configured to auto-hide and it is hidden as I type this in a maximized Firefox window.

I just tried. I think I have tried all of them now! And it does the same: Not hiding in full screen mode...
It was perfectly working before... Any idea ?

ObQuestion: Do you know how to access plank's preferences?

Yes, sure. I tried different setup but I can't make it work like before...
By the way, the dock was hidden properly in full screen with Mint 18. I didnt change any parameter.
I tried all different docks I know (Docky, Plank, Cairo) and its the same for all of them.

Thanks

Just a hunch. Does going into the Effects setting module from the menu and disabling window effects make any difference? Alternatively changing the Effects style from Cinnamon to Scale?
For custom Nemo actions, useful scripts for the Cinnamon desktop, and Cinnamox themes visit my Github pages.
