I've been searching for a solution for this for over a week now and haven't been able to find one that works for me. Anytime I launch a game whether it be from Steam, or WINE, they always open on the monitor to my right instead of the left. I've quadruple checked (to say the least) my display and driver settings to make sure the left monitor is set as the primary and it is. Does anyone have any recommended fixes for this? Generally I'm not too picky, but this is frustrating haha.
The only thing that I've found that works (albeit temporary) is changing the game settings to windowed mode, moving the application to the left monitor, then going full screen. That usually results in in-accurate mouse input though. I've listed my system information below; if anything else is needed I will happily provide it!
- Mint 17.2 Cinnamon 64bit
- Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 (ghz edition)
- Catalyst Driver v15.9 (I've tried older versions as well)

Re: Full screen applications open on the wrong monitor
Just wanted to bump the topic and keep the topic active. After some more searching, I've found several bug reports on github and launch pad from this year, going all the way back to 2011 affecting multiple distributions.
Re: Full screen applications open on the wrong monitor
This is probably not much help but I had the same problem. The only way it was fixed was changing from AMD/ATI Radeon 7850 2gb to a NVIDIA GTX 660 2gb.
Re: Full screen applications open on the wrong monitor
Sorry in my last comment I was getting mixed up with something else. I was able to set my main monitor and have a flight sim open full screen on it, with an Radeon HD 7850 2Gb and the NVIDIA GTX 660 2Gb but for a while I had problems opening youtube videos or the flight sim, fullscreen on the larger TV screen, I had as secondary monitor. They would flip over to the main smaller monitor when going fullscreen. I resolved that by making the TV my main screen. You already have your prefered monitor as main. What happens if you make the preferred monitor for games the secondary?
Re: Full screen applications open on the wrong monitor
If I make it secondary, the game still opens on the other monitor. I've tried swapping cables as well and that didn't work either. All full screen applications go to my 24" monitor.halregen wrote:Sorry in my last comment I was getting mixed up with something else. Re: Full screen applications open on the wrong monitor
I have had similar problem with my dual-screen setup, that display 1 is my primary and display 0 is my secondary and often applications open up on screen0, BUT, I have noticed that if I click on primary desktop before I start the app, it comes up on primary.
