I'm trying to use Cinnamon with Ubuntu, and I want to add a shortcut for a different Firefox executable to my panel.
Since this firefox doesn't show up in the finder, I don't have a way in the interface to add it to the panel. Is there a folder that contains all the panel shortcuts such that I could add one myself? Thanks

Re: Where are panel shortcuts kept in Cinammon?
Find the icon in the Cinnamon menu (usually under Internet) Right click on it and select "add to Panel"

Firefox began to show, so that did work. Thanks
Is there a way to add panel shortcuts for any given file?

Re: Where are panel shortcuts kept in Cinammon?
This is a bit of a clumsy workaround but its what I have done occasionally:
On a free space on the Desktop, right-click and select "Create a new launcher here". Enter the title you want, browse to the file that is to be launched, and click on the icon to select a preferred icon. Click OK, and say yes to add to the menu. Then from the menu follow what lsemmens said, to add to the panel. You can then delete the launcher from the desktop.

Hello, that approach works great for executables, so that answers my question, thank you.

FYI, you can also create launchers to open documents or folders eg:
libreoffice --calc "Documents/Genealogy/DNA/Matches of relatives.xlsx"
or
nemo Documents/Personal

Thanks, you read my mind

I solved this issue in an other way.
keyboard > shortcuts > custom shortcuts. There I created a shortcut for Firefox and assigned a key combination. This is much faster than clicking on an icon.
