[Solved] Notifications: can they be filtered?
There is this little icon "messages/notification". That creates popups if something is happened - new mail or something like that.
It also show popups if BT device gets connected or disconnected. Can this be filtered somehow? So that this not happens.
I just can switch the off or on for all l.... filtering would be great.

Try right clicking on that icon. SelectThere is this little icon "messages".
Disable
or Quit
if available.Then go to
Startup Applications
and disable the app if it is listed. Also go into
Applets
and see if it is listed there. Maybe click on the application and hit the minus button. What is a BT device?

Re: Messages: can they be filtered?
Yes, BT=Bluetooth.
My mouse often connects / disconnect (of course after suspend) and the messages are not helpful. But I won't miss the "new email" notification.

I do not use a BT mouse. But I see (Mint 20.3) that there is an option in the BT settings to show notification icons. I cannot test, if this helps.
Another problem is, that you did not tell, which version of Mint you use.

Re: Notifications: can they be filtered?
Yes, that is a good idea. Thank you. In fact in BT settings notification can enabled/disabled. I will test that.
Re: Notifications: can they be filtered?
And still the used Mint version is kept as classified.

Re: Messages: can they be filtered?
Probably in this case, but for most Brits BT usually refers to British Telecom.

I live in Germany, British Telecom is here only known as a name, not as a selectable provider.

pff, seems my last post has not published.
Yes it is Bluetooth, and its Cinnamon Mint 21.
And yes, there is a way in BT settings to disable notifications. That is the solution for me. Thanks @Cosmo

Re: [Solved] Notifications: can they be filtered?
Where in the BT settings can you disable notifications? I am on Mint 21.1 and I do not see that option anywhere
Re: [Solved] Notifications: can they be filtered?
To disable all bluetooth connect/disconnect notifications in 21.1:
[*1] open the Bluetooth window (left click BT icon in tray)
[*2] click View --> Plugins.
[*3] UNCHECK "ConnectionNotifier" plugin on the left.
