I'm using Linux Mint 14 with Cinnamon and for some reason, I can't right click the desktop and my two icons (home, computer) are gone. I can't even drag the cursor to make that green square thing. Strange, I had the same problem in Zorin OS 6 with I put Cinnamon on there...
*I restarted my laptop and the problem is fixed, did it again and it's back. Why?

Sometimes this happens to me too, after some hours. Restarting the cinnamon session (instead of rebooting) helps.
