Hi!
Cinnamon crashed during editing menu, telling something like "Cinnamon crashed recently, you are now in fall back mode. Do you wan to restart it?" (tried to translate back from German).
Every try to restart ends up in the above situation.

I hope, somebody can help me to get Cinnamon running again.

Regards
Manfred

A crash of Cinnamon might very well be a problem with the videocard.
When you install the Mate-version you might be more lucky.
If you need more help on Cinnamon then please post your machine- and videocardspecifications.

Hi!
Thank you for your interest.
Installation of Linux Mint worked perfect, beside Broadcom Wifi-driver, but it's O.K. now.
There where no problems with graphics, until I edited menus. I made already some changes with no problems, but while deleting an entry made by a program probably not compatible, Cinnamon crashed and I am never able to start again.

Here the infos, I think you expected:

Seen as my recent thread was (rudely!!! considering im a paid contributor) deleted.

Can I also add my Cinnamon crashes a lot and it IS NOT THE VIDEO CARD.

I have tried on Nvidia, Intel and AMD GPU's

It IS cinnamon/muffin in itself as a window manager.

I think it's the age of the video card that is resulting in this.

You might be surprised to find out that you need quite a surprising about of GPU power to run Cinnamon in "Normal" mode. I would recommend at least an AMD Radeon 3650/4650 to run it comfortably (though I think you can run it on slightly less powerful GPUs).

With the open-source driver, a Radeon HD2400pro is the minimum acceptable for Cinnamon as long as you have a reasonable screen size like 1440x900 (19" 16/10 LCD for example). On older hardware, you can forget any Gnome3 derivative. Also, the 3.5 and newer kernels gave much more performance out of these GPUs.

Hi!
Helped myself :D
Added a new user and Cinnamon worked with it.
Original user works too now, after deleting some files in his ~/.config/menus
