Post by Jarew »

mint 17.1 video program starts when inserting usb thumb drive. I have all the settings to "ask what to do" under program preferences. Is there a setting I am missing?

Hello Jarew--welcome to the forums.
Try this:
Click on the Computer icon. In the window that opens right-click the icon for the usb device and select 'Open with other application',
select 'Files' and click 'Set as default' button
Light travels faster than sound.
That's why some people appear smart until you hear what they are saying.

That worked, Thanks.
Took a moment because I have desktop icons turned off and thought it would be the same thing as starting Nemo instead of from the computer icon.
Question. Seeing all the usb devices that have started with VLC do I have to set each one to avoid VLC again?
