no thumbnails in 18.2

Its along time i have one this forum , but i have a problemo that i dont find , or its it a bug in cinnamon 18.2
however , all the right files are in place , i deleted ,i re-install whatever i do dont work not at all , for let say movies .mp4
i have allready in the hidden files the map .cache and delete the map thumbnails two whatever you do dont work for me..
i have follow alot steps allready from internet ,but not one is working .
the files FFmpegthumbnailer , MPlayerThumbs or whatever install or delete and re install dont work for any player in cinnamon 18.2
and that is not the only problem i have lol... :oops:

I had the same problem. Suddenly no more thumbs for videos. For pictures - no problem.
Additionally, xplayer stopped playing videos, played sound only (MPV played both without problems).
Launching xplayer from terminal showed some libsodium.so.18 missing from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu.
Strangely, Blender also stopped working and also pointed to missing libsodium.so.18.
Downloaded the missing lib from github (get it from wherever you like)...

...pasted it to /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu, deleted all folders from /home/USER/.cache/thumbnails/, and guess what?
Yeah, thumbnails are back, xplayer and blender works!
Why this lib was missing? I dont know.
