[SOLVED] Making a shortcut for the keyboard switcher

Post by M_Mynaardt » Thu Sep 14, 2017 2:10 pm

Hi!

Does anyone know how I can create a keyboard shortcut to cycle through keyboards for the keyboard switcher in Cinnamon?

It works well enough with the mouse, but I am in the process of (slowly) making vocabulary flash cards in Mnemosyne, and am having to switch keyboard layouts rather often for that.

What I'd like to do is create a shortcut like, say, Shift-Caps Lock to just quickly cycle through keyboard layouts without resorting to the mouse.

I'm sure it needs to be done through Menu > Preferences > Keyboard > Create Shortcut.
Beyond that, I can't figure out how to make a keyboard shortcut for the keyboard switcher in particular.

Thanks in advance! 8)

You can do it in Keyboard > Layouts > Options > Switching to another layout.

I should've replied sooner but I've been distracted by going back to classes and all that fun stuff.

I accidentally stumbled on the default hot key combination to change the Cinnamon keyboard switcher.

It's Shift-Caps Lock.

Thanks for your response too.
