Battery level for wireless mouse

Post by kevin987 » Tue Feb 27, 2018 3:45 am

I'm using a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard on my desktop. They're at least 9 years old. Cinnamon 17.3 had no problem recognizing them. I would like to see the battery level for them, especially the mouse (batteries go out much quicker for the mouse).

Power Management in System Settings does not show an option for devices or battery.

I've tried the panel applet Power Manager, but it refuses to show itself in the panel.

I've downloaded the Solaar package. It loads, but it won't show the 2 devices in its window (it just remains blank).

Seems it needs a lot of config ...

... and I'm not 100% sure I'd consider that worth it. YMMV.

You're right I'm sure. I'm going to install Cinnamon 18.3 on a hard drive partition and see if these ticky-tacky issues get corrected. Thanks for your help.

I don't think it's going to work any differently in Cinnamon. Y'know, both my USB mice have LEDs with low battery indicattion. Much simpler than what you're talking about.

It seems my USB mouse and keyboard are just too old. Logitech RX650, probably manufactured in 2008.
