Reason: Made the title more descriptive by appending "How to create Windows like shortcuts on Linux Mint desktop?" to the pretty meaningless prefix "Noob"

You mean, just icons on the desktop, that launch applications, like pretty much every OS has?
There are several ways. One is to rightclick on any item on the menu, and choose 'Add to desktop'. Another is to rightclick on the desktop, choose 'Create a new launcher here...' and go from there.

If your issue is solved, kindly indicate that by editing the first post in the topic, and adding [SOLVED] to the title. Thanks!

In addition to the already given answer: You missed to give your basic system specs.

What is your version of Mint and what is the desktop environment? If you don't know open a terminal and enter:

Code: Select all

inxi -Sz
Paste the output here.

You need to give this information for every help request in every thread.
Do not forget this in the future.

(The desktop is in this case clear as you posted in the Cinnamon board. But your next question might be placed on another board.)
