SOLVED - How do I get a USB G-drive to work with Linux

I bought a 6 TB USB G-DRIVE and after plugging it in the 3.0 USB port I find I cannot copy files to it. Memory sticks work perfectly in the same slot. Please tell me I did not waste my money.!!

Drive works flawlessly in Windows.. So its not the drive.

Well, I figured this one out, a least how to make "Linux Mint Cinnamon 18.2" let me transfer files to the "USB G-DRIVE".

Linux Mint will see the USB G-Drive but it won't let you use it until you reboot with it Plugged in. Once you reboot the G-Drive is mounted correctly and it can be used as intended.
