Panel thumbnail disable [SOLVED]
I'm running Mint Cinnamon 18. When I mouseover a running program in the panel (taskbar) it pops up a thumbnail of the program window. I find this annoying. How do I disable it?

Re: Panel thumbnail disable
This is a behaviour of the Window List applet, and can be switched off in the configuration settings for that applet. Here's how to get there:
- Rightclick on an empty space on the panel.
- Choose 'Add applets to the panel'.
- The list of installed/available applets opens. In this list, you'll find the window list applet: - Click the settings icon on that applet's entry. The settings window opens: - Toggle the last setting on that window to switch the panel preview thumbnails off.
- Live happily ever after.

Re: Panel thumbnail disable
Thanks Moem. Mine is a bit different than yours: I have a Configure button at the bottom instead of a settings icon. Works the same.

Re: Panel thumbnail disable [SOLVED]
My Thumbnail display setting is set to OFF. But I still get the thumbnails!
They were previously disabled when I was running version 18, but when I upgraded to 19, they came back, with no way to disable this time! Any ideas?

Re: Panel thumbnail disable [SOLVED]
Yes: start a new thread. This one is about Mint 18 and mixing versions in the same topic is confusing. Plus, your question is more visible in a new thread that's not already marked SOLVED. Thirdly, the forum rules state clearly that a new question deserves a new topic.
Thanks!

Re: Panel thumbnail disable [SOLVED]
This was the answer in the end. A duplicate config file.

Wow, that is an annoying setting. I did not know it was called preview. Thank you so much for posting.
