Dragging windows isn't smooth when reaching screen edge

Post by ntd252 » Tue Apr 17, 2018 10:11 am

I don't know how to describe it, or it might have a topic about it.
When I drag a window around the screen, it kind of stops a bit when the window border reaches screen edge. Is it normal? Can Mint team make it smooth?

So can I disable it?
I read a reply
One of the original problems brought up in this thread is also changed. In System settings->Windows->Behavior there is now a setting to disable "Edge resistance with other windows". That will stop the resistance you get when windows but up against each other.

Just thought I'd add that in case others find this thread by searching.
Disabling edge resistance with other Windows doesn't stop it with screen edge.

it aggravates me too.

I am dragging a window that is about 2x3 inches and when it touches the screen edge, it suddenly goes to Maximum, Full Screen... really is irritating and the developers need to FIX IT.....

Microsoft Windows does not do that..... in fact, I drag screens completely off screen all the time in Win7.

I have two copies of File Manager up, so that I can copy paste from one to the other, or Firefox is up, and I drag it half way off the screen to the right, so that a text editor on the left can be up and I copy paste from one to the other.... do it every day....

but in Linux? can't be done.

You can disable Windows Tiling in its settings.
