menu editor : segmentation fault

Post by caetano »

I repeatedly get this error after some time using Mint and can't find the source of the problem

Code: Select all

$cinnamon-menu-editor
Gtk-Message: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. This is discouraged.
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
Any idea what could cause that or how I could pinpoint the cause of the problem ? (without re-installing Mint yet again)

I had several segmentation defaults, then I installed Python 3 and QT 5, and no more segmentation default error messages.

sudo aptitude install python3-pyqt5

Good luck.

Joe2Shoe : I tried your idea but it didn't make any difference

deepakdeshp : My problem is not that Cinnamon crashes. It's only that the menu editor doesn't open.
