Cinnamon 3.8 [Solved]
is there a way to install Cinnamon 3.8 on Mint 18.3?

the answer is 'no' right now.
I read somewhere that it has Dependencies that are based on OS 19

I concur...the present cinnamon is "zenial" based on ubuntu 16.04 whereas the new cinnamon 3.8 is based on the new "bionic" based ubuntu 18.04 version...LM 18.x are all based on "zenial" 16.04...(AYAH, yah cant get theyah from heeyah, ya gut ta go by way of kittry ta get ta bangah)...lol...DAMIEN

I want cinnamon 3.8, but I'm afraid of moving to mint 19, ubuntu 18.04 has too many problems - the worst one for me is requiring a restart between iGPU and dGPU switching (using prime-select). They say it's because of several bugs in other packages present in the release....

Best to not be in a hurry and get a beta OS, I much prefer to stick with what is working now, and watch to see if the new kid on the block is working good.
