SOLVED - Useless shape on Multi-screen desktop

Post by EMHmark7 »

Hi, I am running multi-screen. But each screen shows on the right side a kind of green rounded gray rectangle. I do not know why this displays, and how I can get rid of it. Thanks

Here it is. This is repeated on each monitor, on its right side at middle height. Thanks. Marc

That looks like a slice of the background. Does it go away if you change the wallpaper?

It was a part of the Mint logo. But is there a way to get no background? I suppose a picture slows down the system.

In my 18.3 (you've not told us your version... ) it's in System Settings => Appearance => Backgrounds => Settings tab => Background settings =>'Picture aspect' dropdown => No picture.
Not the most logical route, but there you have it.

True. I had actually answered for MATE, hadn't paid attention. If you want a Cinnamon version-independent way, write this in a terminal:

Code: Select all

dconf write /org/cinnamon/desktop/background/picture-options "'none'"
Locked

Return to “Cinnamon”
