Hi,
I recently upgraded my linux mint 18.3 to 19 and after upgrade some of themes are broken :(
Here you can see how it looks in Mint-Y-Dark-Blue theme

But in Adapta-Nokto theme everything looks ok

How can I fix that?
My gtk library version is:

Code: Select all

> dpkg -s libgtk-3-0 | grep '^Version'
Version: 3.22.30-1ubuntu1

Some of the themes in spices with included GtK themes still need updating to support GTK 3.22.

I'm using cinnamon edition and themes I checked are standard mint themes.
I've even checked how this should look using mint booted from live CD. I'm don't need to mention that everything looks fine.

I've forgot to write that I've tried reinstall themes with

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install --reinstall mint-themes mint-y-icons mint-x-icons
But this did not helped :(

Mint:Y-Dark-Blue isn't an official Mint theme. It along with all the other downloadable themes on Cinnamon Spices are authored by third parties, some of whom do not then maintain their themes for future Mint/Cinnamon versions. The Mint team and other contributors will, time allowing, either pick up maintenance or remove unmaintained themes but there is sometimes a bit of lag.

^ what he said. The only Mint-Y themes that come with Mint 19 are Mint-Y, Mint-Y-Dark and Mint-Y-Darker.

I've checked Mint-Y and Mint-Y-Dark... In fact everything is OK. I did not know that is not official theme. Thanks a lot :)

Anything added by the Themes setting module will be in a hidden folder in your home directory called .themes. You can safely delete anything in there.

If you've installed themes by any other method (from PPA, non-mint themes in the official repos, built from source) then they will be in the system themes folder /usr/share/themes and should be removed via apt, synaptic or software manager in the first two cases. In the latter case you'll need to check whether there are specific instructions to remove from the author. If not then you can just delete although you'll need to do so with root privileges.

Hi, if you want a Blue variant of Mint-Y-Dark, Mint-Y-Yltra-Dark has recently been updated to support GTK3.22. It's available via the Themes app. Mint-Y-Yltra-Light is the equivalent Mint-Y version.
